Golf: Brunei's Tiger Reign Supreme
JOHOR BAHARU, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- Brunei's Po Tiger won the World Amateur Inter Team Golf championship played at the Tanjung Puteri Golf Resort here on Friday.
The team comprising of Seruji Setia, Pegiran Adam Hattan, Sarjik Mokhtar and Dennis Koh accumulated a total three-round score of 703 to win the Team Gross final.
Australia's Skippy the Kangaroo finished second with 709 while the Revellers Australia finished third on 712.
In the Team Stableford competition, Pakistan's Punjab was the winner with a score of 329 while the runner-up was Tenee 2 from Indonesia on 322.
A total of 32 teams made the cut to the final round after a series of six qualifying rounds held over six venues throughout the country.
All in all a total of 136 teams took part in the 16th edition of the championship, organised by Tourism Malaysia with the cooperation of the Malaysian Golf Association.
Golfers from 14 countries including Malaysia took part in the tournament held over a period of seven months starting in March.
